Do I need to use a Support Bar or a Corner Bracing Shelf? |
It depends on the model shower screen. Some shower screens has the door hinged off the wall, it is not necessary to use the Support Bar or the Corner Bracing Shelf. Other models have a door hinged off another fixed panel of glass, with these models we highly recommend you do choose the Support Bar System or the Corner Bracing Shelf.

Which is better the Support Bar or the Corner Bracing Shelf? |
This depends on whether safety or style is your number priority. For safety purposes we recommend the Support Bar, whereas if you are looking for style many will choose a Corner Bracing Shelf. The Support Bar offers more stability than the Corner Bracing Shelf. The Support Bar is designed for people who are greatly concerned about safety, its design is suitable for families with younger children who are not aware of the risk factors when playing around glass. Alternatively, the Corner Bracing Shelf complements well with the frameless shower screen and gives extra storage space to place your shampoos and conditioners.

How do I minimize the water from leaking outside of my frameless shower screen? |
Due to the nature of frameless shower screens, creating a completely water tight seal is impossible. There will always be gaps between and around glass panels. However if you do experience excessive water leakage, additional PVC/Vinyl Profiles are available for purchase which will help to minimize the leakage.

What condition do I need my walls and floor need to be? |
For best installation results your walls and floors need to be square (with a tolerence of not more than 5mm off square). Walls and floors are square when they are straight (no curvature), your walls are plumb (perpendicular to the floor), and your floor is level (horizontal). If your walls and floors are not square, it is best that you consider a custom designed shower screen.
Often walls and floors are not perfectly square. This means, the greater the deviation of the wall or floor from being square, the greater the gap between the glass panels and your wall or floor. If you are in the process of renovating your bathroom, make sure you inform your renovator to prepare the walls and floors to be square as best they can. Generally your walls or floor should not be off plumb or level by more than 5mm. |

Our shower screens are designed to sit directly onto tiles. In most case you will not be able to install a frameless shower screen onto a shower tray. However, you may be able to find a shower tray which will be suitable for our shower screens. You will need to compare the shower tray's specifications with the shower screen's base dimensions, the shower tray will need to allow sufficient area for the shower screen panels sit on. Please refer to the product listings to find downloadable shower screen dimension layouts and installation manuals.
Note: the shower tray will be slightly smaller after installation (refer to picture on the right), you will need to take this into consideration when comparing the shower tray's dimensions with the shower screen's layout.

Shower screen installation with a hob |
If you are planning to use a hob for your shower enclosure, you may need to consider some issues. Some of the shower screen models use L-shaped floor brackets, check the individual listing's product description to see whether the shower screen model uses any floor brackets. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us and one of our staff members will be able help you.
Scenario:
The listing states that the shower screen has inner dimensions of 900x900mm. Lets assume you design your hob at 900x900mm, and the shower screens product description states that this particular model use floor brackets. Therefore when installing the shower screen, the floor bracket does not have any solid material to be screwed into. |
|
|
Solution 1:
You allow for a minimum of 50mm to allow enough space for the floor bracket to screw into your floor. Therefore, you design your hob to be 850x850mm. |
 |
|
Solution 2:
You install the bracket so that the main leg plate is installed on the outside of your shower enclosure. |
 |
|
Solution 3:
There are alternate floor brackets available, with a short leg which runs underneath the glass panel. Note: this solution raises the glass by 3mm. |

Shower screen installation with a fall to waste floor design and water proofing membrane upturns |
| If installing the shower screen onto a fall to waste floor design, the best location to install the shower screen panels is directly on top of the water proofing membrane's upturn. The upturn is usually a strip of metal which protrudes out of the tiles. If the upturn is protruding out of the tiles, it will need to be trimmed until it is flush with the tiles. The shower screen panels will then sit directly on top, this will create a nice finish, hiding the ugly upturn with the glass panels, and maintain the maximum water proofing. |

For example, safety glass must have a surface compression of NOT less than 68.94 MPa, and edge compression of NOT less than 66.87 MPa. As a comparison, normal float glass has a surface compression of less than 24.14 MPa. |
